There’s an unknown birth of modern Civil Rights that can HELP UNITE US ALL!
In early 2016, Jeff met with Dr. Rex Ellis, the Chief Curator of The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture to show him Jeff’s discovery of the only modern day traces of an African America World War I combat unit. With the help of friends in France, Jeff found the underground command post of the only all African American combat unit in the US military during World War I. It’s now beneath a working farm in the beautiful countryside of Picardy, France.
Dr. Ellis told Jeff that he had stumbled onto the story of “I Have A Dream…BEFORE…I Have A Dream”: The Unknown Birth of Modern Civil Rights BEFORE Martin Luther King was born. The Smithsonian will be doing an exhibition on this story in the Fall of 2019.
Jeff debuted this talk on race at The Dallas Institute of Humanities & Culture in February, 2018. The talk received an emotional standing ovation from the diverse audience.

“There are beliefs in America that go deeper than race, deeper than class, deeper than education or material wealth that unite us all.”
